The Bike - 1981 XV750

After 9 months of looking I finally found a bike that was both cheap and low k's - a 1981 XV750. The bike has spent its entire life in inland NSW, so there is no corrosion to speak of and very little obvious wear anywhere. The previous owner seems to have done a fair bit of work on it getting ready for sale, but taking the tank off shows the amount of dust that settled during its time stored.

A few things about the bike:
New battery (which I won't use)
Braided brake line (which I won't use)
New oil (which I will drain)
New oil filter
New air filter (which I won't use)
Custom grips (which I won't use)
Custom rear header - stainless steel welded mandrel bends (using this!)
Harley slip ons (which I won't use)
Good tyres (which I won't use)
No scratches, dents, or damage to plastics and paint (which I won't use)
Original indicators and other accessories (which I won't use)
Original undamaged seat (which I won't use)

Hopefully I'll be able to sell some of this stuff once I've stripped it off the bike.

But first, blue slip...
