Motogadget
The wiring on these bikes is usually not to bad for the age, but technology has come a long way since 1981. The complicated system of relays, switches and fuses can be basically eliminated by using modern microprocesser, semi-conductors and solid state technology. The state of the art system I am using is the motogadget m.unit v.2.
Motogadget also produce a number of accessories that make the wiring even simpler and eliminate other elements of the system.
The m.button acts as a digital bus meaning that only one cable is required to carry the switch signals back to the m.unit.
The m.switch min is a nano handlebar switchgear that will go a long way to cleaning up the front end of the bike.
They also make other pieces of bling, including bar end indicators, indicators, grips and mirrors, but they are very expensive, and Aliexpress is a pretty good source for that kind of thing.

The m.lock is an RFID ignition lock, eliminating the need for a traditional key and ignition barrel.
